Two-story home lights up (with photos)

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Emergency crews respond to a home for an early morning fire.

The fire happened at 19 Newton Ave. in Binghamton around 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

Binghamton Fire and Superior Ambulance responded to the two-story home. Binghamton Fire said the flames were extinguished within 15 minutes.

"We arrived and found heavy smoke from the second floor porch area," said Gary O'Neill, Assistant Chief, Binghamton Fire Dept. "Crews made an initial attack into the second floor, and extinguished the fire fairly quickly."

O'Neill says there was one person at home at the time of the fire, and he was able to escape safely.

No injuries were reported putting out the fire.

Binghamton Fire is investigating the cause.
