Skiers Hit Greek Peak Slopes

By WBNG News

Skiers take advantage of the new snow for Greek Peak's opening weekend.

Overnight snow coated the slopes here at the ski resort in Virgil.

Greek Peak opened for the season Saturday.

The resort began making snow around Thanksgiving.

But the addition of real snow was welcome weather for skiers.

"I would say that there is about three inches and that's over top of a base that they already blew the past couple days. So it's great this is really great December skiing," said Paul Cooper of Ithaca.

"Absolutely I have been waiting to snowboard since I stopped snowboarding last year," said Peter Shoemaker of Ithaca.

Four trails are open.

Greek Peak is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Night skiing begins December 26th.
