School District Speaks After Rape Arrest

By WBNG News

A school district speaks out after a former coach is arrested for rape.

The Newark Valley School District sent out a letter after last week's arrest of 37-year-old Todd Broxmeyer of Lisle.

The district says it was shocked because he was a volunteer coach with the school's field hockey teams in the fall.

Broxmeyer faces 3 counts of rape in Broome County, and federal charges of child pornography.

The investigation involves 5 teenage girls Broxmeyer coached through his private teams.

He founded the Model Hockey Academy, which organizes field hockey leagues and travel teams in the Binghamton-area and in New Jersey.

Broxmeyer is being held in the Broome County Jail.
