Navy Pilot To Be Remembered

Another local service member who died will be remembered this week.

30-year-old Lieutenant Joshua Gross of Johnson City died Wednesday in Texas.

He and two other crew members were killed after their Navy helicopter crashed near the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station.

His family says Gross graduated from Johnson City High School in 1994.

After graduating from college he became a ski instructor.

Gross joined the Navy in 2003.

These pictures were taken when Gross received his Navy Wings in Florida.

He returned to the area this summer to be a part of the Greater Binghamton Airshow.

Funeral services will be held this week at Barber Memorial Home on Main Street in Johnson City.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and the funeral is Wednesday at 6 p.m.
