Flood Survey Says More Money Would Help

By WBNG News

A flood survivor advocate says government rebates would help Conklin flood victims continue to rebuild.

A survey conducted by Greg Jenkins analyzes the debt accrued after the June 2006 floods.

It suggests the average loss of money per home is around 30-thousand dollars.

Jenkins did the research to hopefully seek additional aid from F-E-M-A...

The Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Jenkins' survey explores how much debt people compiled...

Specifically on credit cards, additional loans, or even retirement money..

Jenkins says a rebate could go along way.

"This is a long shot. It's very difficult to say if and when this will ever happen. We're just trying to go to the lawmakers, We need people to contact their senators, their Congressman, and say they support this and that they need this."

Most flood victims received 5 to 11 thousand dollars from F-E-M-A.

Jenkins says he'll continue to push for funding.
