Binghamton City Schools Need Improvement For 3rd Year

Binghamton City Schools make the list of districts in need of improvement for the 3rd year.

An administrator tells Action News it's only because one group is failing to pass state English tests at Binghamton High School.

Students with Disabilities are coming up just short of meeting the standards.

The spokesperson says they are making progress, and have more help like additional teachers in the Academic Intervention Service.

The New York Education Department listed all districts not meeting state or federal standards.

In our area, George Junior Republic Union Free District and it's High School need to improve math scores.

Among other individual schools listed are Odessa-Montour Middle-High School and Hornell Senior High School, both for English.

But dozens of other schools or districts are now considered in good standing for improving scores during last school year.
