The Owego Apalachin school district is a part of "Operation Save New York," and today OA will perform a mandatory energy curtailment drill.

All school buildings have been asked to "shut down" at 12:45 p.m., and to stay in shutdown mode until approximately 2:05 p.m.

"Operation Save New York" is an energy demand response program designed to lessen the demand on the electrical grid to help prevent widespread power outages across the state.
