Babies Sleep Safest Alone Campaign Kick Off
Statewide Campaign to Stop Co-Sleeping Deaths

Broome County Social Services Commissioner Arthur Johnson along with staff and local mothers at the Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network in Binghamton will host a joint news conference on Monday, May 12th at 2pm to kick off the Babies Sleep Safest Alone Campaign.

This campaign is taking place in counties across the state to help prevent infants dying when sharing a bed with an adult. The Office of Children and Families estimates that co-sleeping is involved in approximately 20 percent of the child fatalities reported to the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
