2012 Arts Award Winners

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Community members are honored for their commitment to the arts in Broome County.

Broome County Arts Council announced the winners of its Heart of the Arts and Lifetime Achievement Awards for this year.

Terry Burke and Jan DeAngelo were selected to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards this year.

Burke is a veteran sound and lighting technician and DeAngelo is a musician, director and choreographer.

Heart of the Arts awards were presented to Ron Sall and Julie Deemie for successfully connecting the arts to downtown revitalization in their communities in recent years.

Sall is a Binghamton businessman, chairman of JulyFest and President of the Downtown Binghamton Business Association.

Julie Deemie is the President of Johnson City Partners and "Carousel Days" visionary.

The awards will be presented November 1 at the 8th annual Heart of the Arts Awards Celebration. It will be held at the Broome County Arts Council's gallery space on the fifth floor of the Stephen's Square Building at 81 State Street in Binghamton.

The award ceremony and celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. This year's theme is "The Arts Connect..."
