Announcement from Delaware County Emergency Services:

The Towns of Andes, Colchester and Middletown remain under a State of Emergency.
All roads are officially closed in these towns.

DPW and DOT Crews began assessing the roads and infrastructure damages at daybreak today.
Emergency responders also began going door to door on the affected roads to check the welfare of the residents.

Several mutual aid fire departments have been called in to assist with the welfare checks of residents.

Some evacuations have taken place this morning and these residents are getting assistance from the American Red Cross for sheltering and other needs.

Approximately 15 residents that were evacuated last evening were sheltered at the Roscoe School overnight.

Delaware County Electric Cooperative is working to restore power to the residents in the Holiday Brook area.

New York State Emergency Management officials are in Delaware County today to assist with the damage assessments in Colchester and Andes.

County Highway 7, also known as Cat Hollow, is closed and will remain closed for an extended period of time.

Alternate routes of travel will be needed for motorists.

Several other secondary roads in that area have sustained heavy damages also.
