An Endwell native's among 4 people charged in connection with a political scandal that consumed New York government last year.

Darren Dopp was the communications director for former Governor Eliot Spitzer.

The Public Integrity commission found Dopp, along with former Acting State Police Superintendent Preston Felton and two other aides, conspired to smear the Joseph Bruno.

Bruno was the State Senate Majority Leader.

The commission found they misused State Police to gather records on Bruno's travels and use of state aircraft, violating a long standing policy.

If the charge of Violating Public Officers law is upheld, Dopp could be fined $10,000.

All four are contesting the charges.
