On Wednesday August 27th, 2008 The Cortland Drug Task Force which is inclusive of the Cortland County Sheriff's Department, Cortland City Police Department, SUNY Cortland Police Department and the New York State Police, checked several areas throughout Cortland County for marijuana plants. Several plants were located in the area of the Towns of Cincinnatus, Willet and Cuyler.
Also assisting the Cortland County Drug Task Force was the Chenango County Sheriff's Department. Several marijuana plants were also located in the Town of Pitcher (Chenango County).
There were approximately 140 plants located in Cortland County. The investigation into the plants is continuing and arrests are pending.
Also assisting in the search was the New York State Police Aviation Division.
