Some say high fences make good neighbors...
But 6 gallons of free ice cream makes a friendly neighborhood.
Martin Avenue in Johnson City was treated to just that.
As part of a contest, Marie Lukasik submitted an essay to Eddy's Ice Cream in March.
She was asked to tell the ice cream maker why her block deserved a party.
She wrote that through all the neighborhoods up's and downs, they've always been there for each other.

"We all lead very, very busy lives. While we do a lot of waving as we're driving up and down our streets and in and out of our driveways. We don't often get the, have the opportunity to gather for a couple of hours and catch up on the news, share stories and just get it all going again." said Marie Lukasik

She was selected from more than 19,000 entries.
