Steuben Man Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter

A man is charged with vehicular manslaughter after a fatal crash in Steuben County.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened around 1:45 this morning, on County Route 64 in the Town of Hornellsville.

A pick-up truck was traveling south when the driver lost control, the truck went up an embankment, and struck a NYSEG utility pole.

The passenger, 29 year-old Darwin Davis of Hornell was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene

The driver, 22 year-old Kevin McPherson of Canisteo, was charged with Vehicular Manslaughter in the second degree.

McPherson was taken to the Steuben County Jail, and held on a 10 thousand dollar cash bail.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hornellsville Court at a later date.
