Binghamton Zoo Closed October 14-16th for Boo Preparation

The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park will be closed for regular admissions from October 14th-16th in preparation of our 17th annual Boo at the Zoo. There will also not be regular Zoo admissions from October 17th-19th because the Zoo will be transformed into a spooky setting.

At the Binghamton Zoo on October 17 and 18th from 6:30 to 9:30 the grounds will be transformed into a haunted Zoo. Scenes will include torture chambers, animal attacks, lots of ghosts and ghouls. There will be a family friendly Boo in the lower Zoo for all those who don’t want to be frightened. Admission to Boo at the Zoo is $5 for children 12 and under and $7 for everyone over 12.

In the lower Zoo area Boo guests will encounter a variety of friendly spirits. They will have the opportunity to get their face painted, rescue a hanging apple, travel a maze and play a variety of other games. Snacks will be available in both the lower and upper Zoo areas. Pumpkin painting and crafts will also be available for visitors to the lower zoo. In addition to being open during the evenings, the lower Zoo family-friendly Boo at the Zoo will be open on Saturday and Sunday, October 18 & 19th from noon to 4pm. Admission to the Family-friendly version of Boo at the Zoo is $5 per person. All children attending Boo will be given a special goody bag as a gift from the Zoo and can fill it up at the games and stations.

During the evenings of Friday and Saturday Boo guests will travel through a series of scarier scenes. Due to the frightening nature of some of the scenes, we do suggest that younger children may wish to avoid this part of Boo! Several of the Boo scenes have been taken from popular horror films, while others come directly from the creative minds of the Zoo staff members and volunteers.

For additional information on both the evening and daytime sessions of Boo at the Zoo, or on other activities at the Binghamton Zoo, you can check out the website at www.rossparkzoo.org or call 724-5461 ext 221 or ext 231.

The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, education, recreation and the exhibiting of animals in a quality manner.
