Revitalizing Main Street

By WBNG News

The Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study wants to make it more friendly to pedestrians and cyclists, while spurring economic development.

With Main Street running east to west from Binghamton to Owego, it wants to incorporate new elements in the project.

And for that to happen, it wants input from those who would use it most.

"We're going to try to break it down by municipality and concentrate on little niches and say okay this is what looks good here according to these," said Jennifer Yonkoski, Senior Transportation Planner. "The opinions of these folks and this is really what fits here and this needs to be changed. So just go down the line."

Two more meetings will be held.

Next Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the Tioga County Office Building Auditorium.

Then on Monday October 20th at 7 pm in the Town of Union Office Building.
