Ryan To Announce Vetoes To 2009 Budget

By WBNG News

Did Binghamton Mayor veto any of city council's changes to the proposed 2009 budget?

We'll find out Friday morning.

Last month, City Council unanimously passed a nearly 79 million dollar spending plan.

It included a tax rate increase of 13.8 percent for homeowners and a 14.7 percent for businesses.

Mayor Ryan's original plan had an almost 17% increase, before Council cut 230 thousand dollars in spending.

And learned the City would have a greater estimated sales tax revenue.

Ryan is set to announce any vetoes he's made at a news conference, Friday morning, at City Hall.
