High-tech manufacturing jobs are a top priority for candidates running for mayor in the City of Binghamton.

Republican Candidate Rich David outlined a 5 point plan to stimulate high-tech job growth.

If elected, David says he would re-shape and re-introduce the city to the business community.

He says technology based companies can cater to national and international clientele.

"High-tech jobs attract residents, workers, partnering companies. As well as stem the brain drain. We need to embrace technology as a growth market and put in place a technology plan that is focused on attracting, retaining, and growing high-tech industry," said Rich David, a Republican Mayoral Candidate.

Democrat Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan says his administration has a technology plan.

He says the Charles Street Business Park is a result of the city's partnership with state and federal government.

Democrat Joe Merrill says the city is already well situated to attract technology businesses, because of programs like Empire Zone Development.

Democrat Garo Kashadourian believes a number of the area's resources are untapped, and the city needs to think outside the box.
