Continental's decision to drop service from Ithaca has New York's U.S. Senators urging the airline to reconsider.

It began offering round-trip flights to Newark last fall.

On average, CommutAir flights have been 72% full.

But, Continental finds there's too much congestion at the Newark Airport.

U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand are asking Continental to have faith in the new, federal transportation secretary.

They say there will also be a new Federal Aviation Administrator focused on clearing up New York City's airspace to help all airlines reduce delays.
