Media release from New York State Police:

On May 30, 2009 at approximately 12:20 p.m., the New York State Police responded to an industrial accident that occurred at Burt Adams Disposal, 521 Main Street, Chenango Bridge, NY.

Investigation at the scene revealed that Shawn Brown, age 35, of the Town of Chenango was working on the body of a large recycling truck when the truck bed released and pinned him against the vehicle frame.

Brown was located by a co-worker, 911 contacted and emergency personnel responded. Brown was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY where he was pronounced deceased.

The New York State Police and United States Occupational, Safety and Health Administration are continuing the investigation.
