This energy fair was insanely packed with people and their questions for the Public Service Commission.

"I'm here only to find out because I have some elderly neighbors who asked me to check it out for them. And I don't know what I'm going to tell them," says Rick Pescatore of Binghamton.

Lines filled with people, electric bills in hand, hoping to find answers.

"We're here to see what's the best rate for our utility bills. They're astronomical," says Mary Therese Verbryck of Vestal.

Dianna Weiner is sorting through information from 14 energy service companies to find the best rate for her family and her church.

"We're trying to make the decisions for those buildings and we have no clue. I'm really clueless. I don't know where to start," says Dianna Weiner of Vestal.

Glenn Gage has crunched the numbers and says he'll only save pennies.

"I'm very confused because I see no savings," says Gage.

The Public Service Commission says you can save up to 8% on your yearly electric bill if you shop around.

"There are lots of choices out there and trying to pick is difficult. So we've tried to make that easier," says Alice Miller of the Public Service Commission.

The PSC won't tell you who to chose, but how.

It put together these forums, websites and a hotline.

Some people say its no help.

"The answer is they failed," says Gage.

Those people say voicing your choice is not worth this confusion.

This Thursday, you will have more help to compare prices.

The Public Service Commission will have the rates for all energy services companies available.
