Construction will start on the Owego River Walk.

The village will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Monday, July 6.

Owego Mayor Ed Arrington will be joined by Congressman Maurice Hinchey and other leaders.

They will gather at 1:00 pm in Draper Park lat the corner of Front Street and the Court Street Bridge.

After the ceremony, there will be a community reception at Tioga Trails Restaurant located at the corner of Main Street and Lake Street.

Congressman Hinchey helped to secure $1.46 million for the River Walk.

Hinchey has been working to secure additional money to complete the project.
