An Elmira man has been charged with murder after a woman was found apparently stabbed to death.

Elmira Police have arrested 35 year-old Lee Doan.

Shortly before 11:10 P.M. Friday night police responded to 355 East Center Street.

46 year-old Susan Mitchell was discovered with multiple stab wounds.

Doane was charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, a felony.

He was arraigned in Elmira City Court and taken Chemung County Jail without bail.
