Virtusphere Markets at Air Show

By WBNG News

A local technological company was tapping into the Air Show to showcase product.

It's called Virtusphere.

It's the first ever virtual reality locomotive simulator.

This 10 foot round sphere can fit a person inside...

Where they can walk and run in any direction.

A wireless head mount display goes on the person's head.

Chief Operating Officer Jim Dimascio says the weekend Air Show was a great platform for marketing.

The purpose of the sphere...

To work with the U.S. Army's combat soldiers.

"They physically feel like they are on the streets of Baghdad and go right through specific mission rehearsals watching for snipers on rooftops, looking for packages to be road side bombs," said Jim DiMascio, Chief Operating Officer of Virtusphere.

The Virtusphere weighs about 450 pounds and sells for about 35 thousand dollars.
