Dig Pink Volleyball Tournament

By WBNG News

A Volleyball fundraising event is a win for breast cancer research.

High school student-athletes hit the volleyball court, covered in pink, to raise money for breast cancer research.

This is the first Dig Pink event, held at Owego Free Academy.

JV and Varsity teams from Windsor, Union-Endicott and Owego all participated.

10 girls from the three schools were on a club team together in the off-season, and worked together to set up this event.

"It's just great to bring everyone out, it's a great community thing we can raise money for breast cancer research. One in every eight women are affected by it. So I mean, it affects the entire community, so it's a great way to bring everyone out, help them love the sport and raise money and help save lives," says Molly Fuller from Owego Free Academy.

Organizers say they were hoping to raise $15-hundred dollars, and thinks they may have raised even more.
