Schumer Hopes Lockheed Holds On Layoffs

Senator Charles Schumer is hoping Lockheed Martin-Owego will hold off its plan to layoff workers.

The Democrat believes there is a chance to revive it's presidential helicopter contract.

Schumer says an internal navy document revealed yesterday by Congressman Maurice Hinchey helps to prove their point...

That scrapping their plan to start a new replacement program will cost more and take longer to complete.

Schumer says he's met with every member of the Senate Appropriations committee and got good feedback.

We will all know by next Wednesday if funding will be secured to keep Lockheed's VH-71 program aloft.

Schumer would like Lockheed to wait until that day before making any moves.
