Democrat Matt Ryan is leading in the race for Binghamton Mayor.

He believes absentee ballots will give him a decisive win for a second term in office.

After voting Tuesday, the Broome County Board of Elections reported Ryan had 3,955 votes. Republican challenger Richard David is a close second at 3,894. The elections board sent out 749 absentee ballots.

Action News reporter Caitlin Nuclo was with Mayor Ryan at Broome County Democratic Party election headquarters at the Regency in Binghamton Tuesday night.
