Republican Richard David Reacts To Close Binghamton Mayoral Race

Republican candidate for Binghamton Mayor, Richard David, is a close second after Tuesday's election.

The absentee ballot count will decide the official winner.

At the close of voting Tuesday, David had 3,894 votes. Democatic Mayor Matt Ryan came out ahead at 3,955 votes. The Broome County Board of Elections sent out 749 absentee ballots.

Action News reporter Julianne Sweeney was with David at Republican Party election headquarters at the Terra Cotta in Binghamton.
