An Owego Museum is getting a head start on the Holidays.

The Tioga County Historical Society Museum, is celebrating the 7th annual O'Tannenbaum Holiday Showcase.

O'Tannenbaum means "Oh Christmas Tree" in German.

The Museum provides trees for individuals and businesses to decorate.

Each one has a theme, ranging from traditional, to some with a little more character, some are covered with lottery tickets.

The trees are then put up for silent auction.

"The Museum believes that the community, especially this year, needs and wants an event with the joy and the warmth and the spirit that O'Tannenbaum can give them. And we're seeing that today, a lot of people coming in with a lot of smiles," says Gae Crosby, Founder of O'Tannenbaum Holiday Showcase.

The trees will be on display until December 18th and all of the money raised benefits the Museum.

WBNG's own Candace Chapman will be at the Museum on Saturday, December 2nd from 2 to 4 PM for the annual "Story Telling and Cookie Decorating Party."
