Testing New Teachers

By WBNG News

New teachers may have to take additional tests before they get to work in the classroom.

The Board of Regents wants to improve education by imposing new requirements on incoming teachers.

Including, demonstrating their subject knowledge and classroom skills.

Current teachers who have been working for 2 years or less may also be tested.

The additional measures means it may take longer for future educators to complete their masters degree.

The Regents say they're also trying to draw in more science teachers.
