The first state mandated audit of the Binghamton City School District comes up clean.

The results of which were released at Tuesday night's school board meeting.

The New York State Comptroller's Office, which performed the audit, did make minor recommendations which the district is trying to implement.

Audits of all school districts by the state were called for after fraud was discovered in some school districts a few years ago.

"We're really concerned about maintaining the public funds and the stewardship of that and I think the audit shows that we've been doing that. There was no fees, no problems found within any of the funds," says David Hawley, Binghamton City School Board President.

The comptroller did praise Binghamton for it's outstanding computer recycling efforts.
