New York State Funds Replacement of Run-Down Homes

New York State is offering millions of dollars to help replace run-down homes with new energy-efficient manufactured housing.

A study by the Department of Housing and Community Renewal found that mobile and manufactured homes play a critical role in affordable housing across the state, but many of them are in deteriorated condition.

The state is setting aside $5 million dollars for the HOME program. That money will provide zero-interest loans to homeowners to replace dilapidated mobile or manufactured homes.
