Many families won't go without a Turkey this Thanksgiving thanks to the generosity of Tioga Downs Racino.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier got a shipment of nearly 1-thousand turkeys this morning.

The turkeys were made possible because of a 10-thousand dollar donation from the Nichols Racino and the Southern Tier Harness Horsemen's Association.

The turkeys will be given to 187 agencies across 6 local counties, and be given to those in need.

"It's more than just about gaming but this is our way of saying thank you for all their patronage whether it's gaming or concert, whatever it may be," says Linn Redder of Tioga Downs Racino.

The Food bank of the Southern Tier says it's the largest donation its ever received.

Without it, many agencies would have to buy their own turkeys to pass out this Thanksgiving.
