Hundreds of people head to the state Capitol in Albany, to make their voices heard about natural gas drilling.

At a pro-drilling rally, people stressed it would bring millions of dollars to a state where the economy is suffering.

They believe it can be done safely.

On the opposite side, a group with varied reasons for wanting to delay or stop drilling.

Some want to know what chemicals are in the fluid use to break up shale to extract gas.

Lawmakers went to the rallies and met with people on both sides of the issues.

"This is an economic opportunity that's going to bring billions to our economy over the course of the next several generations. These people are committed to it and certainly we're committed to moving forward," says State Senator Thomas Libous.

"We're all on the same page I think as far as the environment. Everybody wants to make sure its done right. Obviously some people have taken the attitude that not doing it would the environmentally correct way but I think the track record in the state has been proven. Regulations that are in place, strictest in the nation," says Assemblyman Clifford Crouch.
