Tent Troupe In Town To Spread Message

Meet the Tent Troupe.

These teenagers are traveling the Northeast, using their summer to inspire others.

"We choose plays that have a message, a message that's not necessarily an overtly religious message, but a good message, a character message," says David Perdue of Tent Troupe.

They're sharing that message in performances at Highland Park in the Town of Union.

These 10 high school students are part of St. Luke's Lutheran Church based in Silver Spring, Maryland.

For 5 weeks they travel in these three trucks, sleep in tents, go to the laundromat once a week.

This is Morgan Ewings 3rd time touring.

"You really understand what's important in life because we don't have cell phones, computers or the internet," says Ewings.

They call themselves a traveling Christian Community, hoping to help others deal with what life throws at them through their acting, singing and dancing.

Tent Troupe has been traveling every summer for 37 years, with no sign of slowing down.

The Tent Troupe will perform Neil Simon's comic fable, FOOLS, Thursday night at 8 o'clock in the gym at Highland Park, again in the Town of Union.

There's no charge, but donations are welcome.
