M-E Little League Team Gets All-Star Honor

By WBNG News

These eleven and twelve year olds were New York State little league champions, and today they got to hang with the B-Mets.

Manager Steve Barrett says their loss at the Regional Tournament in Connecticut was tough, but everyone has been supportive.

"We got well wishes from everyone, and to be here today in front of everyone is quite and honor," manager Steve Barrett said.

He threw out the first pitch.

The players were introduced before the game.

And they ran onto the field with the B-Mets as they took the field.

It has some B-Mets remembering their younger days.

"Just seeing these guys just brings back a lot of memories when I played little league. There's just something innocent about that time. And it just puts things into perspective," said Brandon Nall of the B-Mets.

Their manager says they will remember this experience.

"I think a lot of guys will carry this MOJO, if you will, for a few more years to come," Steve Barrett said.

Sitting in the stands, and being honored with the B-Mets has the kids dreaming of they're future in Baseball.

"Some of those guys are probably going to be stars someday. Hopefully some of us can do that too," player Carter Austin said.

The team went 4 and 0 at the Regional tournament before losing in the semifinals.
