Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The man accused of killing his estranged wife and her friend will remain in jail as his murder case proceeds.

A Broome County judge denied bail Monday for Aaron Powell, 39.

On March 22, Powell's estranged wife Christina Rumpel Powell, 35, and her friend, Mario Masciarelli, 24, were found dead at Christina's home on Lisi Lane.

The Broome Sheriff's Office named Aaron Powell a person of interest and launched a four-day manhunt. He was spotted March 26 at a convenience store in Springville Township, Pa., and taken into custody.

He pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree murder the following day in Town of Binghamton Court.
