Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) In the race for Broome County Executive, Democratic candidate Tarik Abdelazim says he's proud of the way he's run his campaign.

Abdelazim made his vote count on Tuesday morning in Binghamton.

He was joined by his family as he voted at St. John and Andrew's parish on Vestal Avenue.

Abdelazim says he's not feeling any nerves about the election, just excitement.

"I'm really proud of the way we ran this campaign and however it turns out, I think we can hold our heads up high that we pushed really aggressively. We made an extremely difficult race really competitive and now we'll just see what happens with the voters," said Abdelazim (D), Broome County Executive candidate.

Abdelazim said he was spending most of the rest of Election Day around County Democratic headquarters. He said he was doing an aggressive "get out the vote" and talking to volunteers to get them inspired and motivated.
