Counting Ballots for Close Races

(WBNG Binghamton) Election day is over, but not all of the votes are in.

The race for Town of Union Supervisor is still too close to call and will rely on the result of absentee votes.

Republican Rose Sotak has the lead with 10,150 votes.

Democrat Jack Cheevers is trailing by just 255 votes with a total of 9,895 votes.

1,415 absentee votes have been received.

Meanwhile, the race for Broome County's 11th Legislative District is separated by just 48 votes.

Republican Ron Heebner leads Democrat Colleen McCabe 2,143 to 2,095.

264 absentee votes have been received.
