Afton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Fairs across the Twin Tiers continue to open. Thursday marked the start of the 124th Afton Fair. Harness racing took the stage Thursday as the horses whipped around the track. Young farmers are in the spotlight on Friday. "The kids here really like to come here because they call this the fun show," said Paul Faigle, dairy cattle superintendent. The fair is being called a "celebration of agriculture." "Everybody has to eat and it starts on the farm," Faigle said. "Whether it be dairy, beef, pork, vegetables, fruits, all of your food is agriculture." The fair was scheduled to continue Thursday night with a rodeo. The Afton Fair runs throughout the weekend. More information on fair
