Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Southern Tier AIDS Program puts on a show that's anything but a drag. Professional and amateur drag queens performed for a fundraiser at Remlik's in Binghamton Sunday.

"AIDS Is A Drag" is a new fundraiser that brings the number of events STAP holds throughout the year to seven.

The show is designed to educate and raise awareness.

"It needs to be brought to the forefront because it is not something that's dormant. It's not something that has gone away," said Katrina, a performer.

"It is something that is very much still alive and affecting many, many people and that's why we need to have events like this to bring an amazing cause together and people together to realize that it's still an issue that's affecting many."

STAP Executive Director John Barry said the organization hopes to host more events like the one held Sunday.
