Cortlandville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Three people are behind bars after an anonymous tip lead deputies to a meth lab in Cortland County.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. Friday, the Cortland County Sheriff's Department responded to a house on McGraw North Rd. in the town of Cortlandville.

When officers arrived, they discovered smoke and a chemical smell coming from the garage.

Three people were found inside the garage and arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance:

- Robert Alberts, 45 of McGraw, NY
- Kristina Yerian, 28, of McGraw, NY
- Terry Maricle, 42, of Cortland, NY

Alberts and Yerian are being held in the Cortland County jail on a $50,000 cash bail each, while Maricle is held without bail.

Because of the hazardous situation, an environmental agency from Syracuse responded to help clean up the scene.

Investigators also had to relocate two people to a hotel, who were not involved with the crime, but were living in a house on the property.
