(WBNG Bingahmton) The Cortland County Sheriff's Department said they have a matched description in an armed robbery case from early November.

The Sheriff's Office said on November 8, they received a call of a reported armed robbery at River Bend Antiques on Route 11 in the Village of Marathon.

It was reported that a man showed a handgun and demanded jewelery from a display case. He took between $4,000 and $7,000 in jewelery.

Almost 20 days later and after an anonymous tip, the Sheriff's Office learned that Pennsylvania State Police had recently investigated a similar robbery at Silver Moon Antique and Consignment Shop in Lewisburg, PA.

The Sheriff's Office said their description of the robber matches up with State Police's.

The person is described as a middle aged white male, 6-foot with dark brown hair.

Sheriffs Office said the suspect drove off in a light gray truck.

Anyone who can identify the person is asked to call Cortland County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Division at 607-753-3311 or 607-758-6151.
