Arrest made in Silver and Gold robbery, police search for another person

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) One person is behind bars in relation to the Silver & Gold Expressions robbery, police are actively searching for one more man.

According to Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski, Sherman Norwood, 37, is now behind bars for an armed robbery that occurred at Silver & Gold Expressions, at 348 Main Street in the city of Binghamton at approximately 6:49 on Friday July 18.

On Saturday July 26, police responded to a disturbance call at 244 Robinson St. on a report of a man with a gun. That man was Norwood. When police arrived on scene, Norwood fled the scene in a car with Kendu Thompson, 29, of Binghamton. Police said both Norwood and Thompson jumped out of the moving car and ran in the opposite directions from police.

Both were apprehended a short time later.

Thompson's arrest was not in relation to the Silver & Gold Expressions robbery.

Police are still looking for Dwayne Young, 28. Zikuski said they believe he was also involved in the Silver & Gold Expressions Robbery. Young is currently on parole and is believed to have left the area.

New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision is assisting with the investigation.

Driving while intoxicated,
