Asbestos found in Theodore Roosevelt Elementary

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Asbestos was located in another Binghamton school. This time, it was Theodore Roosevelt Elementary.

Thursday night, material was found on a track of a window shade in a classroom during a window repair.

The material tested positive for asbestos Friday morning.

Before the test results came back, students relocated to a vacant third floor classroom and the classroom in question was sealed off.

The classroom will remained sealed until it workers clean it this weekend.

Officials estimated the room will reopen Monday after air samples are taken.
