Autopsy results released for Binghamton firefighter

(WBNG Binghamton) The preliminary cause of death of John Janos has been determined.

Dr. John Prindle says the cause of death was heart related. Prindle says this is preliminary, as it will take several weeks for a complete report.

Janos, 57, died early Saturday at the fire station on West State Street. He was a 24-year veteran of the Binghamton Fire Department.

Calling hours are scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at JA McCormick's Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. A private service will follow.
