Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Prom season is underway, which means hair, makeup, nails and dresses are on the minds of many.

For students at Broome Tioga BOCES --including Lori Bernard and her classmates at BOCES PALS and Oak Tree Program -- it's an experience they'll always remember.

This week, BOCES pulled out all the stops to make sure they look their best, including finding the perfect dress.

"We've have two bridal salons, Danielle's Bridal and Uptown Bridal Salon, donating dozens of gowns for the students to choose from," said Principal of the PALS Program, Maggie Kosik.

While Lori and other students got ready, there was a buzz of excitement as they continued to plan the evening.

Faculty and staff say the excitement is energizing and contagious.

"For them to have this experience, this typical social experience that they more than likely wouldn't be able to have if they weren't apart of our program make us pretty proud," Kosik said.

The prom is taking place at the Double Tree by Hilton in Binghamton. The Prom King and Queen will be crowd at 8 p.m.
