Binghamton, NY (WBNG) Instead of serving up slap shots, the BSens were serving up meatballs Tuesday night.

They lent a helping hand in the Broome County Toys for Tots spaghetti dinner at Little Venice by serving dinner to some of their biggest fans.

"It's always a good thing to come out and mingle with the fans and some of the people have bid to eat with the players," said Darren Kramer, forward for the BSens. "Unfortunately, tonight, no one bid on me, so I'm serving, but I always enjoy that too. You get to mingle with a few more people."

The team was also collecting toys.

Fans that brought a new unwrapped toy were able to buy dinner for $9.99.

Dozens of toys stacked up in the Toys for Tots bins all set to go to some children in need this holiday season.
