Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton University students join together Saturday to help raise money for an ACA Memorial Park.

The park would honor the memory of those who died in the 2009 shootings at the American Civic Association.

Students held a fundraiser at the Dickinson Amphitheater, including a silent auction and a drawing for more than five hundred dollars in prizes donated by area businesses.

"Part of the mission of the memorial park has been to get as many people to be a part of building the park as possible," says David Marsland, Project Coordinator for the ACA Memorial Park Fund.

"At Binghamton University we care as well and the students are coming out to make sure they make a difference," says Allison Alden, Director of the Center for Civic Engagement.

The event also included an international food fair and entertainment from student bands and capella groups.
