Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) What is usually filled with students and books was filled with gifts in blue and pink bags Sunday at Binghamton University.

Hundreds of gift bags, stuffed with all kinds of goodies, filled one of the university's common rooms.

Behind every bag was a student willing to give up some time to fill a bag.

For more than ten years, Binghamton University has participated in the Hand-to-Heart Project.

Organizers said more and more students sign up every year.

"We've had a really great turnout this year, better than I've seen in previous years," Samantha Lowenkron, a junior, said. "So I think it went really well and I think every year it gets better and better."

The toys will go to the Salvation Army Monday.
